Education Minnesota Retired supports
the Education Minnesota Foundation
There is an opportunity for Retired members to support Education Minnesota’s
Foundation for Excellence in Teaching and Learning while playing golf ~ at no charge!
Education Minnesota Retired is sponsoring two golf teams of 4 golfers on each team to
play in a charitable scramble golf tournament. It is being held on August 10, at the
Prestwick Golf Club in Woodbury.
Contact Wes Tessman at wtessman1@gmail.com if you’d like to submit your name in a drawing to play on one of our two Retired teams. The deadline to apply is Friday, June 26.
The Education Minnesota Foundation for Excellence in Teaching and Learning offers
grants to Education Minnesota members, which includes classroom teachers, post-
secondary faculty, and ESPs. Since it was started, this charitable golf tournament has
raised over $1 million for the Foundation.

Education Minnesota Retired Fall Conference
Arrowwood Resort and Conference Center, Alexandria, MN
The Fall Brunch is for all Education Minnesota Retired members.
Our Fall Conference will kick off at 4:00 pm on Monday and conclude at 12:00 pm on Wednesday.
We are very excited about the many interesting sessions we have lined up! You’ll have the opportunity to learn more about AI, fraud prevention, and travel for retirees. There will be updates on the upcoming elections, TRA, and the changing landscape of Medicare supplements. Our social justice committee will be hosting a book share, where you’ll have the chance to share some books and authors that have impacted you and get some suggestions from other attendees. You won’t have to worry about choosing which sessions to attend because you’ll get to enjoy them all!
You will also have plenty of time to relax and chat with fellow retirees in our social room and at the evening bonfire. You can shop, golf and enjoy some beautiful Minnesota fall days in Alexandria!

The Fall Brunch is for all Education Minnesota Retired members. Bring your retired colleagues and mix and mingle with new friends. You will enjoy a breakfast buffet, learn more about our organization, get a TRA and PERA update, find out what this session's legislation means for you and you’ll hear from Jodi Anderson from the League of Women Voters.
We had many positive responses from those who attended this event last year! Join us for a great morning of food and fellowship!
The event will still be $20/person and there’s FREE parking!

Education Minnesota Retired Legislative Conference
February 26, 2026
Members heard updates on a variety of issues: Issues from Representatives who serve on the Legislative Commission on Pensions and Retirement, information about the 2026 election and voting rights, information from Elder Voice Advocated and the development of the Healthy Aging plan for Minnesota and how we can get involved. An overview of the Education Minnesota Legislative Agenda was presented.
