Education Minnesota Retired Fall Brunch
Jimmy’s Conference Center
October 13, 9:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Enjoy a breakfast buffet, learn more about our organization, get a TRA and PERA updates, hear from Jodi Anderson from the League of Women Voters. We had many positive responses from those who attended this event last year! Join us for a great morning of food and fellowship! The event will still be $20/person and there's free parking! Roundtrip mileage will be paid for all attending.

This conference is open to ALL Education Minnesota Retired members. It is an excellent opportunity to spend a day with our fellow retired educators from Wisconsin! Minnesota and Wisconsin host this conference in alternating years and Wisconsin will be hosting this year in Eau Claire, WI.
The conference’s keynote speaker is Jeff Mandell from Law Forward, hear the inside scoop on Wisconsin PTA v. Wisconsin State Assembly, the pending litigation to ensure constitutionally adequate funding for Wisconsin public school districts and conference attendees will have six breakout sessions to choose from including The Election is Over, Destinations, AI Changing the World, Protecting Democracy, Breathe Stretch Restore, and Consumer Protection.
Doors open at 9:30 a.m. Registration for the conference closes October 30th. Education Minnesota Retired members who attend may complete a mileage reimbursement (carpooling is encouraged).
Hotel Reservations: Members who register for the conference may make a Lismore Hotel room reservation for Monday night online or by calling 715-835-8888. Use the conference Group Code WER to get the discounted room rate of $129 per night. There are also a limited number of discounted rooms available for Tuesday night. Reservation should be made by October 10, 2026.

Our agenda offered a variety of sessions including Artificial Intelligence (AI); fraud prevention; retiree travel; upcoming elections; TRA updates; and the changing landscape of Medicare supplements. Our Social Justice Committee hosted a book share, where folks had an opportunity share books and authors that have impacted them.

The Annual Meeting, which was open to ALL Education Minnesota Retired members, is an opportunity to learn what is happening within our great organization and how to become more involved.
NEA Retired Meeting

Education Minnesota Retired won a 1st Place award for our website. This was the second year in a row for this recognition. We had 11 delegates who attended the Retired Meeting.
NEA Representative Assembly
July 4 - July 7
Colorado Convention Center
Education Minnesota received the NEA President's Award for it's outstanding response and call to action in support of racial and social justice in dealing with the ICE presence throughout Minnesota. Retired had 11 delegates attend the Representative Assembly.
